Welcome to Rocking Retrievers!
We are located on the North Shore of Massachusetts. We breed, raise, train and love Labrador Retrievers. This was opening day of the NH pheasant season:
History
We have owned and loved labs since our first, Dixie, came to us in
1989. She was my first hunting dog. She never ceased to amaze me with
her natural abilities in the field. We bred her to
Pleasant Pine's Sam, and had some beautiful puppies.
Dixie passed in early 2001, and at around the same time, one of her pups happened to have a litter on the ground. That is how
Molly
came to us. Right from the start, I knew I wanted to run her in Hunt
Tests. I joined as many training groups as I could find, and
Molly's formal training began.
A few years later, I heard that one of the dogs in our training group,
Diva, was going to have puppies. I really liked Diva, and was easily
convinced that I had to have one of her pups.
Layla
came home January 2004. Her training also started early. She was a
quick study, progressing through hunt tests with little trouble. She is
now a Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) and a Master Hunter (MH). She has qualified for both the 2009 and
2011
Master National.
In 2007, we decided that we wanted to breed
Layla. That summer she was bred to Nigel of
Partridge Hill Kennel. She delivered ten beautiful healthy puppies on Labor Day weekend:
Ringo was the handsome boy that we kept. He too started his training early and has done very well.
On June 18, 2011, he passed his 5th Master Hunter test thereby completing the requirements of a Master Hunter (MH) title! The next day, he passed the Granite State Finished test, completing the requirements of a Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH)! Quite a weekend! A Master Hunter title followed by a Hunting Retriever Champion title! Two weeks later both
Ringo and
Layla passed their 6th of 7 tests in one year to qualify for the 2011
Master National.
In Obedience, he obtained his Companion Dog (CD) and his Rally Excellent (RE) titles
All before his fourth birthday.
Ringo has been a busy boy!
